The day has come: by 10 am today, we’ll be ready for the masses to arrive at The Hotchkiss School for the Tri-State Mini Maker Faire.  There’s been a lot of work done in the past few months and, as one of the co-organizers, I can say we are super excited to see it all realized in an amazing day of Maker fun!  We’ve got more people pre-registered than ever before.  (Those folks should be sure to hang around for the prize drawing at 1:30 pm.) Plus we have a great collection of new and returning Makers, including the feature performance by Ravenbane’s Firecraft at 11:30 am.  Don’t sleep in and miss that one, it promises to be lit!

So, pack the kids in the car, drive on over to the Mars Athletic Center (MAC) Parking Lot, and our friendly shuttle driver, Josh, will bring you on over to the Maker Faire!  Oh, and bring a little pocket money so you can pick up a T-Shirt or two, and get some coffee and a snack from Sweet Williams or Noteworthy Chocolates, and lunch from When Pigs Fly BBQ or Avocado Cafe.  You can still sign up for your free tickets at http://bit.ly/TSMMF18tix (or register with us on the way in to the Faire).

While you’re here, be sure to check out The Hotchkiss School‘s new Class of 2017 EFX Lab.  And make sure to explore the full range of spaces around the Griswold Science Building, where you’ll be able to have some fun, develop your Maker skills, and maybe come home with something you made with your own hands!  If you need help finding anything, look for the people in the neon yellow shirts.  Those are our volunteers: Hotchkiss and Indian Mountain School students and staff who are ready to answer your questions, or find someone who can.

And don’t forget to share you photos and videos with us!  We’re on Facebook and Twitter.  Use the hashtags #Makerfaire and #TSMMF18 to make sure we can find you! (Also, we’ll have red dot stickers at registration for people who want to opt out of having their photo taken.)

Now, it’s Maker Faire go time!  See you here in a few! 🙂
